Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Family members of the Xzayvion Riley, the eight-year-old boy allegedly beat to death by his parents, say they want his funeral to be private.
The funeral services are Saturday.
Instead of the public going to the funeral home to show support, the family is asking everyone to light a candle when they go to church this weekend.
Riley died after he was taken to the hospital when his parents reported his heart had stopped. According to deputies, doctors found dozens of bruises, and a human bite mark on riley.
The boy’s parents, Lavaughn Riley and Michael Robertson, are charged with First Degree Murder and Cruelty to a Juvenile. A judge denied their bail earlier this week.
