Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The American Association of University Professors has censured LSU due to the way the university treated two of its faculty members.
One was let go because of the way she graded. The other was critical about how the Army Corps of Engineers handled Hurricane Katrina.
LSU's System President and Interim Chancellor William Jenkins wouldn't comment to NBC33. However, outgoing chancellor Mike Martin gave us this statement:
"One of these cases is still going through the legal process and the other has long since been resolved internally. In both cases, due to pending litigation and employee confidentiality, we can't discuss specifics... We're always interested in what the AAUP has to say. However in these cases, they did not speak to me at all and can't know all of the details."
The group also censured Southeastern Louisiana and Northwestern State universities.
