BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Losing it in Louisiana contestants lost more than 130 pounds combined over the past three months.
James Henry with the green team leads the competition with a 3-month weight loss total of minus 44 pounds.
"It feels good,” said Henry. “I can see a big difference in how I complete the exercises."
In second place is the red team. Kris Cusanza lost 38 pounds so far and hit a major fitness mile stone: dropping below 200 pounds.
"Seeing 198 on the scale was a miracle for me," said Cusanza.
The orange team came in third place. James Newman weighed in at 236 pounds. That's minus 20 pounds total and down 8 pounds in month 3 alone.
"Two more pounds than what I’ve been averaging the past couple of months," said Newman.
In fourth place is Anita Katzman of the yellow team. Anita's lost 19 pounds so far. This month Anita battled with a cold that kept her out of the gym for several days.
"It was kind of slow coming back to the gym at first after being sick,” said Katzman. “I could tell I'd lost some cardio fitness."
In fifth place is the blue team's Carole walker. Carole came in at 287 pounds. Now Carole weighs 278 pounds that's minus nine pounds. Carole's job requires a lot of travel and, she says sticking to a fitness routine can get rough.
"Very hard, because you have to make sure the hotel has a workout room,” Said Walker. “But, you're in session all day, and they close at 8 o’clock you get stuck."
In sixth place is the pink team. Rebekah Worrell lost a total of six pounds so far. She says this month she change up her workout routine.
"I've been doing a lot more cardio this month, so it's been kind of difficult,” said Worrell. “But it’s fun at the same time once you get into it.”
This month hundreds of NBC33 Losing it in Louisiana fans logged on to the station’s Facebook page to vote for their favorite contestant. Fans chose James Newman to have immunity for this elimination.
After careful consideration the secret panel of Bally Total Fitness judges determined which contestant would lose their personal trainer.
The judges chose Rebekah Worrell with the pink team. Worrell will no longer get to work with trainer Lake Johnson.
"If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be where I am today,” said Worrell. “Thank you Lake."
