Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Hope Ministries got a huge donation to help stock up their food pantry for the summer.
ExxonMobil donated nearly 500 pounds of food to Hope Ministries this afternoon.
Along with the food, an anonymous donor provided a food truck, serving up pizza for all those who showed up.
Hope Ministries says they wouldn't be able to provide food for the needy without the help of donors, especially during the summer months, when demand for food is highest.
"Summer months - typically we're very low of food, because clients have children at home,” stated Janet Simmons with Hope Ministries. “We really need to make sure we have enough food for them, because kids aren't in school and parents have no assistance."
Hope Ministries feeds nearly 15,000 people every year, so they happily take all the donations they can get.
