BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — With a spot in the college world series at stake LSU baseball fans are showing out in force to cheer on their Tigers. And many hope this year will be another repeat of 2009, some fans have even begun planning their return trips to Omaha already.
"It's a lot of fun, big party,” Donna Madere, an LSU fan, said.
But for the majority of fans the real world is going to get in the way of traveling with their team to cheer them on.
“Ordinarily my wife and I would but because of vacation and work... this year, we won't be able to. But hopefully in the future we will again,” Steve Scallan, a long-time fan, lamented.
“I would love to, but I don't have a work or a job that allows that much time off,” Nigel Lee, an avid supporter of the team, said.
And for others the dream of traveling for the championship game will remain, at least for now, just that.
“I can't go this year, but it's my goal to get there. So one year I am going to Omaha,” Carol Vaughn, a LSU fan, said.
Those hoping to go to the college world series can still grab general admission tickets online or on the day of the games at the box office on a first come-first serve basis. Click here for more information on how to purchase tickets.
