Zachary, La (NBC33) — In Zachary, ground has been broken on the latest Green Light Project at the intersection of US-61 and LA-64.
The million dollar project will expand the area from two lanes to four.
The project also will include upgraded traffic signals and a dedicated right hand turn lane on US-61 North.
“Industries - when they look at places - the first thing they want is infrastructure. They want to be able to get in and out. If you can’t get in and out there's no purpose for them to come,” stated Zachary Mayor David Amrhein.
The project is expected to take about four months to complete.
