Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Construction continues on Millerville Road between I-12 and South Harells Ferry.
Work on the almost $2.5 million project started several weeks ago.
Just recently, the normally four-lane stretch of road was reduced to two, which left citizens that call that stretch of road home frustrated.
“We have more dirt, so now you have to wash the cars more and more,” stated driver Larry Evans. “It’s an inconvenience because you have to stop and wait for one lane to go.”
Kevin Heltz also finds the traffic to be a hindrance, “Especially in the afternoon, it takes a little bit of time to even get onto Millerville with all this construction.”
The Department of Public Works says the construction should be completed by November.
The project is being done so that crews can lay underground pipe.
Also in the area and under construction is South Harrells Ferry and O'neal Lane.
