Baby survives after mother passes away from gun shot to the head

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The woman who was shot in the head by her boyfriend before he shot and killed himself, died today. However, her unborn child lived.

The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to the scene of the attempted murder / suicide on Tuesday, May 29 [1]. They were called after the father of victim Allison Brue, 31, had discovered her daughter and her boyfriend both shot in the head.

Brue was taken to a local hospital barely clinging to life. The woman was 6-months pregnant.

Although in critical condition, we’re told the baby was delivered and has survived. His mother, however, died today.

Brue’s boyfriend, Benny Johnson, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene.
