Baton Rouge, LA — Governor Bobby Jindal appointed Suzy Sonnier to serve as Secretary of the Department of Children and Family Services, upon the resignation of Secretary Ruth Johnson. Sonnier, who currently serves as Chief Operations Officer for the Louisiana Workforce Commission, will take over on June 5, 2012.
Governor Jindal said, “Ruth did a tremendous job as Secretary of DCFS, where she helped implement the largest reorganization of a state agency in years. We’re excited to welcome Suzy back to DCFS. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from across state government that will help us continue to improve the delivery of critical services for our people.”
Suzy Sonnier currently serves as Chief Operations Officer for the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
