Eunice, LA — The Eunice Police Department received a complaint of three suspicious persons in the back yard of a residence in the 400 block of North 4th Street while the homeowners were away.
Officers arrived on scene and entered the back yard and located the three subjects near the rear deck. Officers gave a command for them to stop but all three fled from the premises.
A foot pursuit then ensued through several yards and over fences. They were finally apprehended several blocks away when they observed a K9 being deployed.
All three were transported to Eunice PD for booking. The rear door and frame suffered damage from the suspects attemting to make entry. All three went before Judge Alonzo Harris on Wednesday morning and bond was set at $6,500.00 each. All three are still in the Eunice City jail at this time.
Mercedes Thomas, Brackus Guillory, and Shaiheen Mitchell were each charged with attempted burglary and resisting an officer by flight.
