NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A federal judge says the BP oil spill federal trial will happen in at least two phases.
The first will look into possible causes of the well blowout that triggered a deadly rig explosion and led to the massive spill.
The second phase will take a look at efforts to stop the flow of oil from BP's Macondo well.
That trial is set to begin next January.
