Krista Baron with United Blood Services came on BR Lagniappe to talk about their upcoming summer blood drive called "Boogie on the Bayou".
Baron said that the blood drive will last for 24 hours starting at 7:00 a.m. June 7 and will continue until 7:00 a.m. on June 8.
Baron said that each donor will receive a pint of ice cream and a t-shirt. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served as well as snacks, and there will be a multitude of prizes given out: iPads, TV's and other items.
Baron shared that it takes only about an hour to give blood and that each unit donated helps save up to three lives. For more information visit www.unitedbloodservices.com or call (225) 769-7233.
