The U.S. Census Bureau is hiring temporary workers to help them count heads in the area.
The work is mobile. It includes delivering and picking up questionnaires from different communities.
The information gathered by workers tells the government who lives where.
And while the work is temporary, the data is invaluable.
"Funds for schools, for roads, head start programs, training centers, all of the money that comes down from the Federal Government based on population takes its roots in the census, says Gabe Sanchez, U.S. Census Bureau. "So it's vitally important we get an accurate number."
Most of the work starts in March, but the hiring process has already begun.
