ST. FRANCISVILLE, LA (NBC33) — A popular lounge and a well known store are destroyed in St. Francisville. People in the close knit town say the fire is a huge hit to the community.
It started after eight this morning in the center of town in a bar called the Blue Horse Saloon. Fire investigators say the flames quickly spread to a store nearby called A Few Of My Favorite Things.
“I didn't even know what to think really,” Kristine Fricke, bartender at Blue Horse Saloon, said. “I was just speechless.”
As the State Fire Marshall's office looks into the cause of the blaze, people in St. Francisville say that part of the city will never be the same.
“It’s going to hurt the business district,” Chief Thomas Robinson, St. Francisville Fire Department, said. “Buildings been here ever since I was a child
No word on how much damage the fire left behind.
It took firefighters about two hours to get the blaze under control.
