GONZALES, LA (NBC33) — In south Louisiana, we celebrate in ways that are different from anywhere else in the world. For example, this weekend people will leave town to spend time with family for Memorial Day. Around these parts, many will stay right here and add one special meal to the mix – Jambalaya.
This weekend the Jambalaya Festival Association will host the 45th annual event in Gonzales. For three days families can participate in games, listen to great local music, and of course, eat lots of Jambalaya.
The festival will include carnival rides and cooking contests. It all gets started on Thursday, May 24 and continues until Sunday, May 27.
