NBC NATIONAL NEWS — The 2012 London Olympic gold torches are already appearing on eBay, with one selling for nearly $240,000. Experts estimate the torch is only worth $8,000.
Olympic organizers were surprised sales came this quickly. Former British Olympic champion Jonathan Edwards reacted to the trend.
“People buy them, they’re private property and I think as a member of the organizing committee, they just have to go to a good home,” stated Edwards.
