BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Baton Rouge Police Department has arrested a man they say is responsible for running a moving scam in the area.
Charles Hilliard, 32, of Baton Rouge was arrested on Thursday, May 17 for the alleged scam. We’re told Hilliard advertised himself on Craigslist as “To Hire a Mover.” They say that on two separate occasions Hillard was hired to help individuals move items. Instead, he helped himself and stole items in the process.
BRPD believes there could be more victims in the area and ask anyone who hired Hillard to contact the Baton Rouge Police Department Burglary Division at (225) 389-3824.
