BATON ROUGE, LA — The following is a statement from outgoing LSU women's tennis coach Tony Minnis after learning LSU would not renew his contract.
"In my 21 years as the Head Women's tennis coach at LSU, I have spoken out and tried to champion women's rights for the benefit of my student-athletes and consistently pushed for facilities equal to other SEC schools. I am very disappointed that after being very loyal to LSU that the Athletic Administration has decided not to renew my contract in light of the fact that the Board of Supervisors has just announced the building of a brand new tennis complex and i will not get a chance to see the fruits of my labor. I wish LSU and the Women's tennis program the best of luck in the future."
