Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Runnels preschoolers said goodbye to their longtime director today.
After 37 years, Runnels preschool director, Molly Hightower, is retiring.
Today, all the students were decked out in purple and gold, her favorite colors.
Hightower tells us she's enjoyed watching her "kids" grow up and send their own children to her preschool.
She says she couldn't imagine spending her life any other way.
"I feel like this has been a calling in my life,” said Hightower. “I was given an opportunity a long time ago. I had no idea I was going to walk into this kind of profession, but I have enjoyed every moment of it. I wouldn't take back one bit of it."
The owners of the school capped off the day with a special gift: they named an entire building after Hightower to show her how much she means to the school.
