Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — A higher up with the National Intelligence Office says Baton Rouge is setting a positive example for the rest of the country.
Lieutenant General Mike Flynn says Baton Rouge is one of the crown jewels of the State Analytical and Fusion Exchange.
“Fusion" is a department created nationally after the 9/11 attacks which increases the amount of communication between departments locally and nationally.
Flynn met with Baton Rouge's State Department of Analytical and Fusion Exchange today to encourage them to continue their amazing work.
He says he's doing a national tour, but feels other states have a lot to learn from our program, “People should sleep as soundly as they can because of organizations like this one right here, because you've got people dedicated 24/7 to doing the kind of job they're doing, and they're not asking for credit."
Lieutenant Mike Flynn went on to say that communications between the departments is not only going to help deter terrorism but will help keep gangs out of Baton Rouge.
