IBERIA PARISH, LA (NBC33) — Two men are behind bars for allegedly stealing jewelry and valuables while they were supposed to be washing peoples’ houses.
Charles Bouton, 31, and Jed Brisson, 30, are accused of taking roughly $20,000 worth of valuables. The duo are said to have worked at the victim’s homes. They were hired to clean the exterior of the homes.
Detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office say the men then took the items and sold them through a business that purchased gold items.
Bouton was charged with Theft Over $20,000. Brisson was charged with Illegal Possession of Stolen Items, Theft over $500 and Theft by Fraud over $500.
Both men were booked in the Iberia Parish Jail.
