Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) —
A retired police chief is in Baton Rouge helping to implement Operation: Ceasefire in the Capitol City.
Jim Fealy and District Attorney Hillar Moore met with NBC33 to speak about how they'll battle violent crime. They say they will tackle the crime problem in “baby steps”, focusing on individual zip codes first.
EBR Parish simply doesn't have the cash to do a parish-wide project.
Operation: Ceasefire will focus on the 70805 zip code first due to the majority Baton Rouge’s murders occuring there.
Local police, the Sheriff’s Office and community leaders are going to hit that area hard.
