BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A very busy Sunday night and Monday morning for Baton Rouge police. That as four people are hurt in three shootings.
The latest one happened just after 2:00 a.m. on Monday, May 14. Police say a man was walking on the 2600 block of Laurel street when someone pulled up in a truck and starting shooting at him. The victim was hit in the chest and forearm and was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
About an hour before that, just before 1:00 a.m., police were called to an apartment complex in the 12000 block of La Margie for a home invasion that resulted in a shooting. Police say two men forced their way into an apartment and started demanding money. The suspect then started shooting inside the apartment. The victim and his roommate, who was hit, were able to get out through a window. They were both taken to the hospital.
Meanwhile, just before 11:00 p.m. Sunday night, police were called to a shooting on the 2600 block of Tanner street. We're told the victim got into an argument with the suspect. That suspect shot the victim in the arm and lower back. He's expected to survive.
