SHREVEPORT, LA — A Shreveport man is recovering in a local hospital after being shot during a robbery.
It happened at around 4:57 a.m. in the 600 block of West 72nd Street. A caller told 911 operators that a man who was suffering from a gunshot had climbed through her window.
When responding officers arrived, they found the victim lying on the caller's kitchen floor with serious injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital.
The victim initially told authorities a false name of Broderrick McCoy, however, detectives later identified the man as Alex Anderson, 22.
Anderson claims he left his house in the 600 block of W. 72nd street to check on his barking dogs. He was then called to the street by a man, who tried to rob him. Anderson refused to give up his things and and was shot once in the chest.
The three robbers are described as black males, dressed in all black and about six feet tall. Their identities are unknown.
Anderson is currently listed in fair condition at a Shreveport hospital.
