BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Good academic news for the Southern Jaguar football and men’s basketball teams.
New athletic director Dr. William Broussard confirmed to NBC33 news that the postseason ban originally slapped on the Jags because of low APR scores has been lifted.
Thanks to a proposal that allows “low resource institutions” more time to comply with new tougher APR requirements, Southern’s men’s hoops team and football team will have the opportunity to compete for SWAC and NCAA championships next season.
