NBC News — Some 400,000 public sector workers are on strike across the U.K. Thursday. The workers are protesting government plans to cut pensions as part of their drive to bring the country's deficit down.
Employees have set up pickets in cities across the United Kingdom after an overwhelming majority of more than 94% of union members voted to reject the pension reforms, for a second time. Several unions representing health, education and border control workers are joining in the action.
