BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — On Tuesday, May 8, a group from the Northgate Merchants Association and Councilwoman Tara Wicker came together to discuss the future of that area of Baton Rouge.
Councilwoman Wicker dubbed this a community and stakeholders meeting. The purpose was to discuss the revitalization efforts underway near the Northgates of LSU.
The community members talked about issues such as parking, intersections and business development.
“We want this area to become again destination point for people not just for people who are attending LSU, but for people from all over the city and all over the parish."
Wicker says the group will take the information they received and decide how to move forward with it.
We want to know what you think. What are the biggest issues facing the revitalization of the Northgate area. This area primarily includes the intersection of Highland Road and State Street. Tell us your thoughts on the NBC33 Facebook page .
