NBC News — China and the United States hope to secure future cooperation at the fourth round of the bilateral strategic and economic dialogue. Vice Premier Wang Qishan of the Chinese State Council presided over thursday's meeting. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told journalists in Beijing the United States was working to build a relationship that would allow both China and the U.S. to flourish.
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner stressed the importance of candid dialogue between the countries. Geithner thursday called on the Chinese government to allow the yuan to strengthen and further open its markets. China denies that its currency is undervalued and has slowly allowed the yuan to rise.
