U.S. Senator hits a half-court shot

NBC NATIONAL NEWS — U.S. Senator Scott Brown displayed some "downtown" range on the basketball court, and it was captured on video.

The Massachusetts senator nailed a half-court shot while visiting children at a Cape Cod rec center.

A staffer was recording the scene as Brown ran off the court to big cheers from some new fans.

The Republican Brown is facing a fierce challenge this fall from Democrat Elizabeth Warren in one of the most closely watched senate races in the country.
