Fire officials say when using your fireplace make sure you have someone check it out to make sure there isn't any build up. They also say double check and make sure the embers are out when you're done using the fireplace. Firefighters say to purchase a carbon monoxide detector to protect yourself. They say you can't taste, or sense it in your home.
