Lake Charles, La — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested Kevin M. Jenkins, 25, who was wanted for Second-Degree Battery; Battery on a Police Officer; Resisting Arrest; and Possession of Marijuana with Intent.
On April 23 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Jenkins’ apartment in Lake Charles Lake Charles, to investigate a complaint regarding drug activity at the apartment.
When deputies arrived and spoke with Jenkins, they observed several half-burnt cigarettes containing a green-leafy substance inside the apartment. After receiving permission to search the apartment, deputies recovered a bag from the top of Jenkins’ closet which contained six bags of marijuana.
When deputies attempted to arrest Jenkins, he resisted violently, injuring two deputies, and fled on foot. Both CPSO deputies were treated at a local hospital and released.

Jenkins was subdued after fighting with deputies but during the struggle to handcuff Jenkins, he attempted to disarm one of the ACT-T members.
Jenkins was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center with the additional charges of resisting an officer; and attempting to disarm a police officer.
Jenkins, who is currently on parole until 2016 for a conviction of possession with intent to distribute CDS I (marijuana); and possession with intent to distribute CDS II (cocaine), is being held without bond.
