This was a tough week for me. I had to spend two days out of the gym, because my grandmother was sick. Trying to get back in the swing of things with boot camp was a terrible decision. I was so tired by the end I thought I was going to pass out. But, I didn’t. I really appreciated how all the ‘Losing it’ contestants really cheered each other on. It helped keep my spirits up and motivated me to finish each exercise. We have really become a fitness family. Thank you for all the support.

This week I learned that doing boot camp without air conditioning is not fun. The workout was awesome. But, doing it outside in the sun was not so awesome. You don't realize how hard it is working out in the heat until you have to do it. I am very happy I made it through the workout, and I am very thankful for air conditioning.

All the contestants took a boot camp class on Saturday outside. Thank God for the wind. Lake seems laid back when I talk to her, but she is anything but while running her boot camp! We did a one-minute abs exercise, targeting the obliques and my obliques will hurt for weeks. I surprised myself on the push-ups and planks, though and held up longer than I thought I would. We're making progress and the down side is that my personal training is getting more intense, or maybe that's the upside, because it means I'm getting stronger!

My diet has been hard to maintain with having two kids involved with sports, having to go to a lot of away games, and not having too many healthy choices on the road. Things should be improving, though, as baseball has ended for the season; so I will be able to maintain a better meal schedule. We had Boot Camp for all of us this last weekend. Boot Camp was a challenge to say the least, but I look forward to being able to do more of the Boot Camp classes.

I am so proud of myself because I was able to meet my weight loss goal of losing at least 5 pounds in 2 weeks. My hard work is finally paying off and being able to look in the mirror and see how my body is transforming is such an amazing feeling inside and out. This weight loss journey isn't easy, but I'm doing it and actually enjoy it. To know that I'm getting healthier every day and that I can do anything I put my mind to keeps me going. After boot camp with Lake this past Saturday on the roof of the parking garage in 80 plus degree weather, I told James Henry and his wife that I know I've come a long way since February because I didn't quit despite the heat and exercises we did. With that being said, I am blessed to be a part of Losing It In Louisiana with such an amazing group of people. I really want to thank Kris, James H. Rebekah, Anita and James N. because their support and encouragement means more to me than they may even realize. I'm so proud of all of us!

Boot camp on Saturday was brutal! I thought for a brief period that the competition had become a fight to death between the competitors and Rebekah's trainer, Lake. Good news is that we all survived. Lake, I'm sorry for anything I may have said about Saturday during and after boot camp. I was delirious and can't be held responsible.
