GONZALES, LA — On April 23, 2012 at 4:52 p.m., Gonzales Patrol Officers were dispatched to 1821 West la 30 to the American Gateway Bank, in reference to a robbery which had just occurred.
Officers responded to the area and were unable to locate a suspect in the area.
Detectives learned that at 8 minutes prior to the lobby closing time an unidentified male entered the bank and walked up to the teller line that was being serviced by one teller and presented a note demanding money from the cashier with the threat of bodily harm.
The white male is described as average height, thin build, wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, black hat and sunglasses was then given an undisclosed amount of money and had exited from the bank running towards the Interstate 10 interchange with La30 at highway exit 177.
The Gonzales Police is asking for any assistance from the general public in helping identify the man pictured in the still images provided from the Bank video surveillance or soliciting any information from any passing motorist that may have been in the area on the day of the robbery and seen the suspect flee from the bank.
