Belle Rose, la — Last night around 9:25 p.m., a caller/resident from the 200 block of Daggs Street in Belle Rose advised of a fight on the street and while she was on the phone with the Dispatcher she overheard shots fired. The caller then advised one male subject was shot.
While deputies were responding to the scene, the victim, an 18 year old male who resides on Daggs Street, was being transported by a resident in his personal vehicle to Assumption Community Hospital. He was stabilized with one wound to the chest area and later flown by Acadian Ambulance Air Med to a Baton Rouge area hospital for further treatment.
This shooting is under investigation.
Several casings were recovered from the scene indicating several rounds were fired. Detectives are developing leads and information surrounding this shooting. However, no arrests have been made.
