It's the busiest day of teh year for the United States Postal Service. Post office officials expect more than two million pieces of mail to go through the Baton Rouge processing center by the end of the day.
Postmaster Carl Karnish says folks think time is running out to send holiday mail, but in reality, people still have plenty of time. They can mail out as late as t he 24th. They'll just have to pay a little extra to make sure their packages and cards make it in time for Christmas.
And if you can't make it during normal working hours, there's an Automated Postal Center open 24 hours a day in five locations around the area, and a website that allows people to mail from home.
