BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — First Lady Supriya Jindal spent some time this afternoon in a Baton Rouge elementary school.
The Supriya Jindal foundation partnered with a communications company to donate new tools to kindergarten classrooms at Shenendoah Elementary.
The tools were given to all three classrooms at the school.
The First Lady says programs like these are critical to making sure students get as much as they can out of the classroom.
“We want make sure we give these kids the opportunity to be involved in their learning and utilize these hand on enrichment tools,” First Lady Supriya Jindal, said. “It gives them an opportunity to do that and we want make sure they build a solid foundation at this kindergarten level before they progress into the upper grades.”
The First Lady going on to say she's focusing on improving students’ math, reading, and writing schools.
