Dr. Carl Gauthier, Rheumatologist, shared that he will be the speaker at a special "Living With Arthritis " talk at the North Oaks- Livingston Parish Medical Complex on April 26th at 6:30 p.m. At the event he will share that there are as many different forms of arthritis - which is typically joint pain and swelling, and that these are symptoms that are typical of over 120 different medical conditions like cancer, diabetes, thyroid disease, etc and he advised that the bottom line is that people don't need to ignore their symptoms- they need to go to get them checked out at the doctor. He further shared that any pain that exists more than 6 weeks should be checked out by a doctor. The next half of the seminar he will address such things as changes people can make in their diet, exercise, medications, etc to help them live with arthritis.
