BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Jindal administration says they're looking into who stole the Deputy Chief of Staff's online identity.
According to the Governor's office someone created a fake Facebook profile for Kristy Nichols. The post discussed the ongoing pension reform that's happening now in the legislature.
The Governor's office says they first heard about the fake account and post when they got several calls soon after the post was made.
"It's very disturbing that someone would steal Kristy's online identity,” Kyle Plotkin, Governor Jindal’s office, said in a statement. “We have big challenges and need to have a substantive debate about the issues. These underhanded attacks distract from the issues. It's unfortunate and surprising that someone would stoop this low to try and win."
The Governor's office told Facebook about the account and it was immediately deleted.
