Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — If you drove downtown today you may have noticed a lot more bicyclists on the streets.
That's because it's bike to work week in the Capitol City.
Cyclists are encouraged to take to their bikes instead of thier cars this week. And as a reward many downtown restaurants are offering discounts to cyclists
The goal of "Bike to Work" week make Baton Rouge drivers see just how important bike safety is.
Event Planner Cory Belden says Baton Rouge is not a bike friendly city and that has to change.
"The more people that get out, ride their bikes shows the public that we need to improve our infrastructure to accomodate cyclists in Baton Rouge and Louisiana," says Belden.
