BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Road construction around the city has one local tire shops seeing more people than usual.
The manager of Allied Tire and Brake at Perkins and Staring says they've seen a steady increase in business as the summer construction season picks up.
Randy Purvis says he sees everything from debris from construction to people simply not paying attention.
“We fix a plethora of tires every day,” Purvis said. “It’s amazing the stuff that's in the road out there - it even gets to the point you cant even cut the grass or do anything out there because there's so many concrete blocks - they hit everything lying in the road out there."
Purvis' advice is to slow down and pay attention, even when you're not in a construction zone.
