BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Department of Public Works says Staring Lane from Highland to Kingcrest will be closed to all traffic through May 2. People we spoke with today say the work along that stretch of road is more inconvenient that most construction zones.
“I was trying to avoid the traffic on Perkins coming down Essen,” Carol Constantin, Baton Rouge driver, said. “Now I have to turn around and go back to the traffic.”
The Mayor's office says the area is closed as part of the Green Light Project to widen the road. Detours are posted around the construction zone.
Perkins, Bluebonnet, and Highland are the roads suggested to get around all that construction.
We want to know what you think about the construction project. Is dealing with the construction issues worth the final product? Go post your answer on the NBC33 Facebook page .
