It's legal in 14 states - now a group of Louisiana citizens is trying to make medical marijuana legal in the Bayou State.
Donnie Griffith and Toashia Monaghan are the two behind the latest effort. They say they're getting lots of support - but there's also lots of roadblocks.
Folks in the medical and political fields have lots of questions about how an issue like this could be taken seriously in such a conservative state. Representative Bodi White from Denham Springs says any medical marijuana law would never even make it to the floor for a debate.
Griffith and Monaghan have no timetable set to pass a medical marijuana law in Louisiana. But they say they'll keep fighting until it happens.
