NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Bobby Petrino is out as the football coach at Arkansas, according to the school’s athletic director.
Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long says Coach Petrino abused his authority and made personal choices that benefited himself and jeopardized the integrity of the football program.
Petrino was injured April 1 in a motorcycle accident. He was put on paid leave last week after admitting he lied about the presence of a female football staffer at the wreck.
Petrino finishes with a 34-17 record in four seasons at Arkansas - 21-5 over his final two seasons - leading the Razorbacks to a No. 5 final ranking last season and a Cotton Bowl win over Kansas State.
