NBC NATIONAL NEWS — At the OB, you know what to expect, but it turns out that woman are turning to their obstetrician for much more.
"In my office we actually have a checklist," said Dr. Stuart Jones, an OB/GYN, of asking his patients about issues such as heart symptoms and chest discomfort.
It's something Brianne Harman at the American Heart Association welcomes and encourages women to speak up about symptoms.
Screenings are available to save hearts and save lives.
Dr. Jones said if he sees patients with symptoms of heart disease, he will refer them to a cardiologist right away.
