HOUSTON, TX (NBC) — Five passengers and two flight attendants were injured after their flight hit severe turbulence early this morning, Wednesday, April 4.
Officials say the United Airlines flight departed from Tampa, Florida en route to Houston, Texas when it hit turbulence over Lake Charles.
The plane landed safely in Houston.
Authorities say at least three people were transported to local hospitals and their conditions are unknown.
It is not known if the turbulence was caused by the same storm system that spawned tornados in the Dallas area Tuesday.
