NEW ORLEANS, LA — Children's Hospital, a major non-profit pediatric academic medical center affiliated with the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, has notified the state's Commissioner of Administration of its desire to purchase the adjoining New Orleans Adolescent Hospital (NOAH). Children's Hospital views this acquisition to be critically important in expanding inpatient and outpatient healthcare services it provides to the children of Louisiana and the Gulf South.
Last year Children's Hospital provided care to children from every parish in Louisiana and treated more than 60,000 unique patients between the ages of birth and 21 years.
Children's Hospital employs more than 1,800 individuals and trains more than 100 pediatric residents annually. Acquiring NOAH will expand our employment base and increase our educational capacity.
The NOAH property has provided healthcare services and education for more than 80 years and an acquisition by Children's Hospital will continue this historical tradition, ensuring that the property will be used for healthcare and educational purposes well into the future.
