NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33) — A first-year festival devoted to the promotion of DJ and electronic music culture is riding high from the final number counts for this year’s event.
We’re told that roughly 12,000 people attended the Buku Music + Art festival in New Orleans.
Organizers say the big success of the project has sealed the deal for continuing the event as an annual tradition.
“We couldn’t have been any happier with the success of Buku,” says Reeves Price, co-founder of Winter Circle Productions, “Buku filled a gap New Orleans music culture was missing, and there’s no doubt we’ll be back again for Buku 2013.”
The festival was held over two days beginning on Saturday, March 17. It was held at Mardi Gras World and included a mixture of national and local performers.
