A man dressed as an elf disrupted Santa's holiday photo shoots at the Southlake Mall in Morrow, Georgia Wednesday evening when he informed St. Nick he was carrying a bag of dynamite.
The incident happened inside the mall concourse where children and parents gather to take pictures with Santa.
The man walked into the area and said he'd like to have his picture taken with Santa Claus.
He informed Santa of the dynamite as they were preparing to take the picture. Santa immediately notified mall security who contacted Morrow Police Department. The mall was evacuated after officers discovered three suspicious bags near Santa.
Morrow police blocked off roads and established a perimeter around the mall. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Bomb Unit was dispatched to the scene. Police searched the entire mall complex and gave the all clear at 10 p.m. No dynamite was found.
The man, who was later identified as William C. Caldwell of Morrow, was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats and reckless conduct.
