BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — School districts across the parish came out to Southern University to see what new teachers will soon enter in the work force.
This bi-annual job fair is to attract candidates with the Southern University College of Education.
Up to 50 different school districts across the parish were trying to interview dozens of potential candidates.
Southern professors say these candidates have already been student teaching in different schools in the Baton Rouge area.
Dr. Virjanice Peeoples is the dean of the College of Education at Southern and says she's proud to say these students will graduate with a career.
"We can say that 100 percent of our candidates leave this college with jobs in hand, and so, that is really something to boast about in these days and times, it's not just this in district, we have different states coming in to recruit our students," she said.
Dr. Peeoples said the job fair went on all day, with classes of thirty getting their turn to talk to school districts.
