MORGAN CITY, LA (NBC33) — A domestic dispute over money ended up prompting a vehicle chase with law enforcement.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office was called to a home in Morgan City on Monday, March 26, shortly before 4:00 p.m. While the deputy was enroute to the residence he was advised that the suspect had already left the scene in his vehicle.
The deputy spotted the vehicle leaving and attempted to pull him over. The suspect, Louis Williams Jr., 39, did not stop and a chase ensued.
Williams was eventually caught in Gibson.
Officials say the original altercation that started the whole thing began when Williams was arguing with the complainant over money. That’s when she says he began pushing her and grabbed her purse, attempting to take her money. The victim says he also pushed her sister as he was leaving the home.
Williams was booked into parish prison for Domestic Abuse Battery, Simple Battery, Resisting an Officer by Flight and General Speed Law.
